We are blessed with a gifted team of leaders at Open Door!
I am happily married to Carol and we have three grown up sons. We spent many years living and working in West Africa before I became an accredited Baptist minister on our return to the UK in 2006. I love living and working in Peterborough and feel privileged to serve Jesus in forming a vibrant multi-ethnic community in the heart of the city.
I am happily married to Giles and as well as having three adult sons we also have 2 grandsons.
Giles and I have been co-leading Open Door since 2013. Our theme verse for many years was Matthew 28:19 ‘Go and make disciples of all nations.’ In our area of Peterborough you don’t have to go far to meet people from many nations! It is a joy to be part of what God is doing in this deprived area of the city.
I love food, books and quiz programmes
I moved to Peterborough in 1981 with my new wife Christine and started to come to church here a few years after. We have 3 sons all of whom have flown the nest. At Open Door we are very much a family with it’s roots in the area. I firmly believe we have something precious to share with the community around us.
Deacon & Safeguarding Officer
I became part of the leadership in 2015 but part of the church family in 1990. It was the first church I visited after moving from Yorkshire and it’s been like home since. I never fail to feel God’s presence at Open Door. God has used me in various ways as part of the worship group and formerly involved in children and youth work. I work as a nurse practitioner in a local surgery and feel particularly passionate about the vulnerable members of our society. I am safeguarding lead. I pray I will be a good Christian witness and share God’s love and joy with others.
I first came to Open Door in 1989 after migrating from Jamaica. I joined the leadership team in 2016. As one of the ethnic minority members of the church I am pleased to be a part of the team and strive to be a good role model for my brothers and sisters in Christ. I love Open Door because of the friendly atmosphere and the inclusiveness of worship. My Christian journey within the last three years has been influenced by Ministers Giles and Carol through their commitment to see others grow in their faith and serve God wholeheartedly. I have been involved in children’s work for a number of years and my desire is to share the good news of Jesus and see the number of children who attend grow.
I have been at the Open Door since 1976. I am a worship leader in the church and treasurer. I have four grown-up children; a host of grand-children and a great grand-child; something of a dynasty! I am married to Rosey. My ambition for the church is that it is full of people who love Jesus, who feel part of a big family and are happy to tell others about how great it is to know Jesus and to belong to such a brilliant fellowship.
